Dr. Shane Acey

I am a hometown kid - I grew up here in DeSoto and Festus, MO and in 2016, I graduated from DeSoto High School. Unlike many others, I can't say that I wanted to be a chiropractor since I was a little kid or because of a sports injury, when I was younger, I wanted to be a car mechanic. I played football, wrestled, and did track, but none of that made me want to BE a chiropractor. Many things set me on my trajectory toward being a chiropractor. It began when I started the ATS program at Jefferson College (Shout out Jeffco!) Two things happened simultaneously, my dad took me to his chiropractor and I wrote career journals for the biomed program. A lightbulb went off and that started my path!

After DeSoto, I went on to Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO, where I obtained a degree in Exercise Science in 2020. During my time at Lindenwood, I was able to do a pilot program that partnered with Logan University where I was able to finish my undergraduate degree while attending Logan in the fall of 2019. On top of the workload of school, I also took hundreds of hours of continuing education courses in rehabilitation, treatment, sciatica, disc pain, and chronic neck and lower back pain. I was lucky enough to have found great mentors who also happen to be world-renowned doctors during my time at Logan. I had the great fortune, while in school, to move to Denver for my preceptorship where I lived for a year to continue to learn and grow so I could bring my knowledge back to our community.

I also have a passion for staying active. Some of my favorites are running at West City Park with my dog Ivy, hiking, and going to the gym. Ivy and I love traveling and finding new hiking trails and restaurants all over Missouri!
